Going to the dentist is scary for some, and inconvenient for others. But one thing is for sure: no one ever really wants to go to the dentist. As we get more mature, though, we start to understand really just how important good oral hygiene is. Anyone with teeth problems has learned this the hard way and (if you’re like me) has probably regretted those missed checkups. Because when those dental bills start coming out of your bank account, it hits different.
One part of the problem is that we don’t always know what to do for oral hygiene aside from regular brushing and flossing. Luckily, there are several direct-to-consumer (D2C) businesses popping up to make caring for our teeth that bit easier.
Today, we’ll look at Smile Brilliant, a company making oral hygiene simple with its range of products. Below we’ll take a deep dive into the products, prices, and customer reviews so you can see if their service suits your needs.

Who is Smile Brilliant?
Smile Brilliant is a team of dental professionals. They have over 30 years of experience with teeth whitening and creating custom-fitted whitening trays for local dentists.
Professional teeth whitening can be an expensive process. Smile Brilliant calculates that about 70% of the time and money involved in professional teeth whitening is incurred by physical trips to the dentist.
To make teeth whitening more affordable and accessible, they have devised a D2C model that eliminates attendance at the dentist and passes the savings down to the consumer.
While many companies in the dental space focus on teeth alignment, Smile Brilliant offers:
- Teeth Whitening Kits
- Night Guards for Teeth Grinding
- Water Flossers
- Electric Toothbrushes
How do Smile Brilliant products stack up to the massive brands?
Let’s cut to the chase and start breaking down their pricing and the quality of their products.
Smile Brilliant offers a range of different products for teeth whitening and oral care. The teeth whitening systems are aimed at varying levels of staining. Additionally, they provide night guards to help anyone who grinds their teeth, a premium water flosser, and their electric toothbrush.
We’ll take a deep dive into their product line and compare Smile Brilliant’s prices against some of their competitors. From here, you can figure out which one best suits your needs.
Teeth Whitening Trays
Smile Brilliant offers three different teeth whitening systems: The T9, T6, and T3. Each system comes with an option for sensitive or non-sensitive teeth.
The ordering process is straightforward.
- You order your teeth whitening kit.
- Smile Brilliant sends out your impression trays and materials
- Follow the included instructions to take your impression and send it back to their lab. It’s super easy, to be honest.
- Their professional dental lab receives the impression and creates a precise model of your teeth. From here, they make and send you a custom-fitted tray. Plus, they’ll hang on to your impressions so that reordering additional trays months/years later is super easy.
- Just apply the whitening gel to the inside of the trays and let ’em get to work, shining up those (soon to be) pearly whites!
Take a look at their different teeth whitening packages. It’s easy to decide which is best for you. A couple quick things to take into account:
- The higher the number next to the letter T, the more whitening applications you’re getting. So a T9 system includes 3x as much good stuff, and you’re only paying around 20 bucks more.
- Non-sensitive vs Sensitive packages are exactly what you’d expect. If you’re not sure whether you have sensitive teeth or not, we recommend erring on the side of caution and going with a sensitive one. Teeth whitening kits are notorious for irritating sensitive teeth, and you don’t want to find yourself in a situation where whitening treatment is causing you physical discomfort or pain.
T9 NON-SENSITIVE SYSTEM
The T9 non-sensitive system is ideal for heavily stained teeth with no natural sensitivity.

- 1 set of custom-fitted (upper & lower)

Cost: $149
T9 SENSITIVE SYSTEM

Custom Night Guards
Teeth grinding, also called bruxism, can have a terrible long-term effect on teeth. The motion of grinding and jaw-clenching can wreak havoc by wearing down the teeth, making them smaller and sensitive. Additionally, it destroys enamel, leaving the teeth prone to cavities. Further symptoms that result from teeth grinding are headaches, TMJ syndrome, earaches, jaw or face pain, and sleep disruption.
A customized night guard provides a solution to this issue. The Smile Brilliant guard fits very well and doesn’t rub against the gums, which helps ensure that it’s a workable long-term solution.
If you want to read more about the beauty of night guards, feel free to check out our deep dive comparing three leaders in the space: Remi vs Cheeky vs Clearclub: Which is the best night guard for teeth grinding? But as you’ll see in a sec, Smile Brilliant is giving them a run for their money, from a value perspective.
The ordering process is largely the same as Smile Brilliant teeth whitening kits: you receive a cast, make your impression, and from there, the night guards are made in a dental lab.
Smile Brilliant offers three different options for night guards:

DELUXE PACKAGE
Kit includes:
- Four custom-fitted night guards
- Travel cases.
Material used: 2mm (Latex & BPA free)
Usage: Lasts one year with heavy grinding.
Cost: $179, with a lifetime reorder for $25 per guard.
MODERATE PACKAGE
Kit includes:
- Two custom-fitted night guards
- Travel cases.
Material: 2mm (Latex & BPA free)
Usage: Lasts six months with heavy grinding.
Cost: $159, with a lifetime reorder for $35 per guard.
INTRO PACKAGE
Kit includes:
- One custom-fitted night guards
- Travel case.
Material: 2mm (Latex & BPA free)
Usage: Lasts three months with heavy grinding.
Cost: $129, with a lifetime reorder for $40 per guard.
If you’re not picky about the thickness of your night guard, Smile Brilliant offers an excellent value that rivals the next best option, Remi. This value is even better when you start ordering additional guards, since Smile Brilliant only charges $40 for each additional one.
One final point of note is the lifetime reorder process. Smile Brilliant keeps the dental models on file, so once the night guards wear out, customers can simply reorder from the website. As detailed above, these guards are available for between $25 to $40.
Water Flossers (pew, pew!)
If you hate traditional string flossing or floss picks like me, I can’t recommend water flossers highly enough. They’re basically a handheld device (similar to an electric toothbrush) that shoots water between your teeth and gums. Smile Brilliant (and other brands) claim that water flossing is 50% more effective than flossing with string. Additionally, it’s far more effective around implants and braces.
Some are rechargeable and therefore don’t have to stay plugged in, but personally I just use one that plugs into the outlet. They’re super easy to use, very effective, a little messy, and honestly pretty fun. So, when it comes to something as difficult as trying to floss every single day day, the water flosser is a pretty great tool.
Anyway, Smile Brilliant sells one called the cariPRO™ Water Flosser. In terms of pricing and features, it compares very well against the industry-leading name brand, Waterpik. It also comes with a 2-year warranty and a 60-day trial.
There are broad similarities between these two models. Both devices are stylish and fit nicely in hand, thanks to their ergonomic design.
They each come with specialty floss tips that are suitable for different jobs. For example, the carIPRO has standard tips for general use, an ortho tip for braces, a brush tip for implants, bridges, and crowns, and a pocket tip for periodontal pockets. The Waterpik is slightly more limited and comes with regular, ortho, and plaque seeker tips only.
The Waterpik model does have certain advantages, however. It’s slightly quicker to charge and holds battery power for longer. Another factor to consider is the Waterpik’s compatibility with Waterpik Whitening Water Flosser Tablets. These tablets can be placed inside the water tank daily to boost whitening in the hard-to-reach areas of the teeth the Water Flosser reaches. Waterpik suggests that this product will restore natural teeth whiteness within four weeks and that they are clinically proven to remove 25% more stains than brushing.
cariPRO Electric Toothbrush
Another option that Smile Brilliant offers is the car PRO™ ELECTRIC TOOTHBRUSH. They claim that this toothbrush is seven times better at removing plaque and twice as good as competitors at providing a white smile. Again, the product comes with a 2-year warranty and a 60-day trial.
Smile Brilliant offers three different options: the deluxe package, the individual package, and the couples package.
DELUXE PACKAGE
This package is realistically the one that you should be looking at getting, primarily because it includes a few extra replacement heads. Sure, you can just get a basic package until you’re sure that you like the brush… but you’ll most likely find yourself in a situation where you’re ordering a few a-la-carte down the road, which doesn’t make much sense from a shipping perspective.
- x1 cariPRO Ultrasonic toothbrush
- x4 premium replacement heads with tongue scraper & DuPont™ bristles
- x1 wireless charging dock
Cost: $129
INDIVIDUAL PACKAGE
This one will run you $10 less, but will only include 2 replacement heads.
What’s included?
- x1 cariPRO™ Ultrasonic toothbrush
- x2 premium replacement heads with tongue scraper & DuPont™ bristles
- x1 wireless charging dock
Cost: $119
COUPLE PACKAGE
Because what’s cuter than ordering matching toothbrushes with your partner?
What’s included?
- x2 cariPRO™ Ultrasonic toothbrush
- x4 premium replacement heads with tongue scraper & DuPont™ bristles
- x2 wireless charging dock
Cost: $199
Right so: individual cariPRO™ Electric Toothbrush unit costs around $119. But a lot of the newer Oral B electric toothbrushes around twice that. So, the best comparison to make is with the Oral-B 6000 SmartSeries Electric Toothbrush, which typically retails at around $119.
The Oral-B 6000 isn’t the most advanced Oral-B model on the market, but it’s a very solid and well-regarded toothbrush. There’s not a great deal of difference between the two products. The cariPRO™ has slightly fewer vibrations (40,000 vs. 48,000) and doesn’t have Bluetooth or smartphone connectivity. However, the battery life is significantly better.
Both models come with five different brush modes for cleaning, whitening, gum care, and sensitive teeth. The cariPRO™ has a massage option, while the Oral-B 600 has a pro-clean option.
Smile Brilliant Reviews: What are others on the internet saying?
Smile Brilliant generally has favorable online reviews. Many customers are complimentary about the quality and results of the product, with others praising the customer service.
Of course, even walk-in professional teeth whitening services have their detractors. It may be to do with unreasonable expectations or a lack of understanding about the limitations of teeth whitening products. For example, some reviews are negative because their teeth haven’t miraculously jumped ten shades whiter.
Broadly, the customer’s sentiment is good, with lots of people praising Smile Brilliant for its quick and straightforward service.
The Bottom Line: Is Smile Brilliant a legit option for getting teeth whitening kits, night guards, and dental care products online?
Some aspects of oral hygiene will always require a visit to the dentist, like checkups, implants, cavities, etc. But for elements that don’t, like teeth whitening, Smile Brilliant is a great choice. They have a lot of pedigree and experience in the teeth whitening space and have turned that towards making products that are far cheaper and more convenient than trips to the dentist.
Smile Brilliant understands their customers’ needs and offers six different customized teeth whitening kits to cater to varying levels of staining and discoloration, alongside options for those with more sensitive teeth. Their teeth whitening systems are available for between $149 – $189, depending on different customers’ needs. Additionally, the higher tier packages come with a financing option to pay over three months.
Another stellar value from Smile Brilliant is their custom-built is night guards. Teeth grinding is no joke (as many of my readers probably know), and custom night guards are an excellent defense against the damage that this condition causes. Again, Smile Brilliant not only offers a variety of packages, but their reordering system is an insane value, enabling you to get replacement night guards for as little as $25. The only downside here is that Smile Brilliant’s night guards only come in 2mm thickness, which is the most common one out there. So if you find yourself wanting a thinner or thicker guard, you may have to look elsewhere.
It’s also worth noting that Smile Brilliant’s electric toothbrushes and water flossers compare favorably to many well-known alternatives. So if you’re ordering a whitening kit or night guard from them anyway, you might as well save on shipping costs if you’re in the market for a toothbrush or water flosser.
Overall, Smile Brilliant really is a great one-stop-shop for dental care. They are so confident about their product’s effectiveness that they offer users a money-back guarantee. This promise, alongside their positive online reviews, suggests that they are one of the better options out there for D2C teeth whitening and dental care.
